STC Drama/Book Club: Frankenstein

Sacramento Theatre Company presents a drama/book club to discuss the classic novel Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley to be held for four consecutive Thursday evenings. The club is held in conjunction with the theatre’s October performances of Tim Kelly’s stage adaptation of the classic tale. The club meetings conclude on Thurs, Oct 6, with a 6:30pm preview performance of the play followed by a special post show discussion with the director and cast members.

Over the four weeks club members will not only gain a deeper understanding of the novel but also have an up close look into the process of mounting the Sacramento Theatre Company’s production. The Drama/Book Club focuses on the intentions of the characters and the themes of the novel, how the piece influenced Tim Kelly’s adaptation, and the overall design of STC’s production.

The club is facilitated by Jerry Lee, who also plays Henry Clerval in the production. Members will receive their own copy of the novel along with a ticket to the Oct 6 performance and post show reception of Frankenstein.
