Workshop: Paint the Towne, Olde Sacramento with David Peterson

“Paint the Towne” is a four-hour workshop about painting watercolor creatively, boldly from life. Participants at all levels of experience will sketch and paint outdoors. After a short lecture and demo, the class will work outdoors making a design and value sketches and then paint a half-sheet watercolor. David will work with you by step. It will wind up with a 30-minute critique session.

The purpose of this workshop is for participants to learn how to paint fast and loose from life. It is about creativity, not technique! The subject matter, as indicated, is Old Sacramento. This is an exercise in creating a beautiful, moving painting out of a familiar urban subject we all love.

The meeting spot for this workshop will be at the corner of Front Street and J Street, opposite Fat City. Make sure to bring quarters for street parking. There are rest rooms, shaded areas, and places to sit down during the workshop. There's even Bratwurst from the Sausage Junction to eat during the critique!
