Add Review/Comment
October is the time for all things spooky and what better way to celebrate than with Edgar Allan Poe, the master of horror and suspense. Sacramento State Professor Jason Gieger will lead a discussion focusing on a selection of Poe’s best known short stories and poems, plus a few others that demonstrate his true mastery of the art of suspense.
Short Stories: "Hop-Frog," “Ligeia," "The Black Cat," "The Cask of Amontillado," "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar," “The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Masque of the Red Death," “Murder in the Rue Morgue,” "The Tell-Tale Heart."
Poems: “Annabel Lee” & “The Raven”
All stories and poems are available in most volumes of Poe’s collected works and some are also available online. Please read as many or as few as you like and join for the discussion on the Saturday before Halloween.
