Steinway Concert Artist and Mondavi Center Artist-in-Residence Lara Downes is acclaimed internationally by critics, concert audiences and music lovers. A good friend and supporter of California Lawyers for the Arts, Lara will perform a benefit concert featuring a special preview of music from her just-released CD and upcoming Mondavi Center premier performance of 13 Ways of Looking at the Goldberg: Bach Reimagined. Critics have immediately acclaimed this new release as “Eclectic,” “Otherworldly” and “Magnificent,” “A rewarding journey through Bachian fields on a CD that is at once playful and arresting.”

Along with excerpts from CD, Lara will present an eclectic program featuring some favorite works by Chopin, Gershwin and Brubeck that she has recorded on previous solo albums. Please join this special opportunity to hear and meet the artist and enjoy an hors d’oeuvres buffet and no-host wine bar.
