Colors of War Art Exhibition Discussion

The Sacramento Public Library has invited a group of professional artists and political media scholars to discuss the thought-provoking art exhibition, Colors of War. New York City-based artist Terry Rosenberg has created digital paintings of loaded words whose incendiary meanings are challenged by provocative juxtaposition and dramatic typography. By bringing together words with clashing, contested meanings, Colors of War illustrates how our contemporary moment seems to reverberate in a continual state of confrontation and war, according Rosenberg.

The discussion panel will consist of Kimberly Love Nalder, Ph.D, Associate Professor of Department of Government, California State University, Sacramento; Lawrence Fox, Arts Educator and Artist/Designer at the Artfox.us Gallery; Daniel Gorfain, immediate past chair of the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission; and Rosenberg. Sacramento Public Library Director Rivkah K. Sass will serve as panel moderator.

A public viewing will immediately follow the art panel discussion.

The exhibition will be on view Nov 8-Dec 31, at the Central Library and at the Robert T. Matsui Gallery at Sacramento City Hall (915 I Street, North Entrance).
