Florence is the birthplace of western opera. Enjoy select excerpts from Italian Baroque operas of the 16th and 17th centuries, featuring mezzo-soprano Julie Anne Miller, with Rod Gideons, Sacramento Opera’s general director. In this program inspired by the exhibition Florence and the Baroque, each aria will provide musical insight into Florence and to this pivotal period in both art and lyric theater history.
Presented in collaboration with the Sacramento Opera. Playlist is part of the program series Thursdays ‘til 9. Sponsored by Bank of America.
