Verge Ahead is a celebration of Verge's 2011 success, as well as a look ahead to what's in store for the upcoming year. More than another art event, Verge Ahead promises to be an exciting visceral experience featuring a massive art installation by Future Art Notables in the temporary gallery, open studios, Art Golf (a mini-golf course created by VCA artists), live music, DJs, and more. Beer will be provided by local beer maker Ruhstaller and coffee will be provided by Insight Coffee Roasters.
DJ Scott Soriano and DJ Hailey will be spinning, with musical performances from MOM, Christine Shields, Fine Steps, Gentleman Surfer, and Ganglians.
A photobooth will be set up to take pictures of you and your friends at the party for instant sharing of the fun on your social media networks!
Also, Sacramento365.com will be there participating in all the fun—be among the first 50 guests to arrive and receive free giveaways, and stop by the Sac365 golf hole to try for a hole-in-one!
About the Installation: “Assorted Spaces” by Future Art Notables is an installation of small structures that will invoke feelings of warmth and nostalgia. Repurposed fabrics, textiles, and notions will create various interactive structures. Think the forts of childhood, slumber parties, and small special places to share. Room will be left for viewers to walk amongst the pieces. No more than two or three people will be able to fit into a structure at a time. All structures will be padded with blankets to foster a feeling of comfort.
About Verge: Verge Center for the Arts (VCA) is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to promote and support contemporary art in the Sacramento region. VCA produces acclaimed contemporary art exhibitions, educational programming, and provides affordable studio space to emerging and career Sacramento artists.
