Susan B. Anthony Women's 5K Walk/Run
August 11, 2012
Founded in 1976, the Susan B. Anthony (SBA) 5K gives women runners and walkers the opportunity to compete strictly against other women. The race has been successful every year in providing women with a non-intimidating atmosphere to challenge themselves to run or walk farther or faster than they may previously have. While the race attracts competitive women runners from all over Northern California, the field is composed primarily of Sacramento-based fitness runners. For many, the Susan B. Anthony 5K festival is their first race.
In conjunction with the Women’s 5K, the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Kids’ 1/2 Miler is one of the few free kids’ races in the area. Kids can run alone or be escorted by their parents and then enjoy a ribbon, a cool treat, and the jumpy house.
