Camellia Symphony Orchestra

Founded in 1963, the critically acclaimed, community-based Camellia Symphony Orchestra has won ten ASCAP awards for adventuresome programming. The Orchestra often performs world, national, and Sacramento premieres. The artistic mission of the organization is to present concerts and programs of high artistic merit, integrating new works of diverse composers, unique classical compositions that are rarely performed, and selections from the standard repertoire in a way which reaches the broadest possible audience.

      What a concert! From the pre-concert instrument "petting zoo" to the very age-appropriate music selections(picture a greatest hits album), I cannot think of a better way to spend an afternoon with my kids! The orchestra was fabulous. The conductor (Maestro Michael Goodwin)spoke to the children in a very approachable way, giving an introduction to all the different sections in the orchestra. They also had an opera singer, Carley Neill, with a voice that was so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes! My kids liked it to much my son tells me he wants to learn trumpet and my daughter won't stop singing. Thank you Camellia Symphony for this great introduction to classical music. We will be back for more. Collapse
