  He went from rock star of his day, with illustrators being all the rage, to dismissed by art critics who found abstracts more compelling than the slice-of-life paintings that Norman Rockwell created for 65 years.
  
  The superb display, "American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell," which opened Saturday at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento and runs through Feb. 3, makes you wonder what the critics were thinking.
  
  It also makes you smile, laugh, think, and, in a couple of instances, tear up. Collapse

  For the past few years, the annual Crocker Art Museum Holiday Art and Craft Show has been held at the spacious Scottish Rite Center. The Center aptly accommodates the 100+ fine artists and craftspersons who sell their original work at the show, as well as providing ample free parking, and delicious treats by the Ambrosia Cafe. And attendees may take pictures with a Victorian Santa. This is definitely a recommended gift shopping stop during the Black Friday weekend following Thanksgiving. Collapse

  Best of the best from ARC 2012. There is stiff competition to get into the exhibit, at the reception the top few will be awarded special recognition, this recognition is invaluable to students as it is not only a confidence booster but it helps us show that we do take pride in our skill. My work is in this exhibit, the work is called Roxy and I am proud that I got this far, this is a great honor to be in a museum, I have been in galleries but never an actual museum. Roxy (Blue Healer canine) 2'x2 Acrylic on plywood is my artwork, I hope everyone enjoys viewing my work along with other ARC artists and the very awesome Norman Rockwell exhibit. The reception for this exhibit is Dec 16 1-3 Collapse
