Sacramento Chapter Parents of Murdered Children (SacPOMC) is a support group for anyone who has had a loved one die by violence. The chapter is a support group for all family members (not just parents) and friends of those who have lost a loved one through violence. Their goal is to provide emotional support and companionship, including accompaniment for survivors who must attend court proceedings. POMC makes the difference through ongoing emotional support, education, prevention, advocacy, and awareness.

  1. What is needed to start a support group in my town? As a mother who lost a son in 2020 I feel like this is needed for lots of us in my area. I’m in Tulare county. So I need to take some counseling courses to start a support group or if you can tell me where to start please do so.

  2. I'm looking to network. My son was murdered and there is really isn't any resources for families of violent crime in my city or county. I have started my own grief support group because of the great need in our area.
