Sacramento365.com Category Guidelines
These guidelines articulate the general parameters by which such information will be presented; however, in all instances, the authority to make decisions based on specific circumstances belongs to Sacramento365.
Art Exhibits
This category is dedicated to art exhibits, either free or with paid admission, at galleries, museums and other destinations. The focus of this category is specifically on exhibits of “art” – which may appear in many different forms.
Classes and Workshops
This category exists to represent classes, workshops, lessons and other participatory arts programs that are open to the public.
Comedy
This category is for performances generally taking place at comedy clubs and stage venues.
Dance
This category presents professional and community dance performances geared to adults, which includes university and community college productions.
Festivals
Festivals are, generally, recurring seasonal events. This category will also include seasonal community celebrations, cultural fairs, as well as film festivals and fundraisers.
Film & Video
Previews, premieres, film-festivals, special showings/filmings
Food & Wine
Any event including food, wine, or beverages or the tasting of some form of either
(i.e. Special events, tastings, happy hours, fundraisers, parties).
Free Events
This is a catch-all category that lists all events and activities that are free of charge.
History & Heritage
The primary focus is in the demonstration of telling or re-telling of historical events.
Kids & Family
All events (theatre, concerts etc.) that welcome children under age 16 should be included here. The goal is for this category to be a single source for a rather broad range of information for family activities. It’s important that this category span the variety of obvious kids & family events – but should also offer opportunities to bring children to appropriate other events as well.
Museums
This is a category of exhibits at a broad range of museums and cultural destinations, either free or paid admission, with regular hours of operation.
Music
This category presents professional and community music events geared to adults, which includes university and community college productions, as well as venues such as nightclubs and restaurants.
Nightlife
Any adult event occurring outside of the working hours of 9am-5pm which does not specifically fall under the other categories. (To include Comedy, Food & Wine, Film & Video)
Poetry & Literature
This category focuses on the written and spoken word – lectures, poetry, author appearances, book signings, presentations, readings, salons and slams.
Sports & Recreation
This category represents events – both participant and observer – where the event is sports or sports-related, including professional and amateur sports listings It also includes recreational activities where people can participate such as road races.
Theatre
This category presents professional and community theatre events geared to adults, which includes university and community college productions.
