Kate Dana
Visual Artist - Collage & Mixed Media Painting
About the artist:
I create colorful paintings and mixed-media pieces that merge diversity and tradition through text and images. Many of my collages are influenced by refranes mexicano and Spanish dichos--traditional proverbs passed down over generations. I have studied Spanish at Los Rios Community College and traveled to several Latin countries. My workspace, Casa de Chula Arte Studio, is located within my eclectic Midtown apartment. In addition to making art, I volunteer with Farm Sanctuary in Orland, CA and work in computer technology with the State government.
