Sierra 2 Center

The Sierra 2 Center for the Arts and Community, managed by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association, is a charming, Andalusian/Spanish Revival style stucco building built in 1923 as an elementary school. Sierra 2 is located on three lushly landscaped acres in the beautiful Curtis Park neighborhood within easy reach of Midtown and Downtown Sacramento. Sierra Green, a neighborhood park, is adjacent to the Center.

This historic site was saved from demolition by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association (SCNA) in 1979. SCNA's members and community volunteers generously contributed time and resources to renovate the school. Together they transformed Sierra 2 into a non-profit center for artistic, cultural, and educational activities. The 24th Street Theatre, three dance studios, and a variety of scenic meeting rooms and courtyards are available to the public for rental on an hourly, daily, and monthly basis.

Sierra 2 has become a vibrant hub for Curtis Park and the greater Sacramento area.

      Wicked Master Dance Class Sierra 2 Center Wicked Master Dance Class Presented by California Musical Theatre at Sierra 2 Center June 1-June 8, 2012 Join for a gravity-defying Master Dance Class taught by a cast member from the Wicked Broadway Touring Company. This class is for aspiring dancers with three or more years of dance experience.

      The Little Mermaid Jr. Summer Workshop Sierra 2 Center The Little Mermaid Jr. Summer Workshop Presented by Young Actors Stage at Sierra 2 Center July 30-August 19, 2012 Young Actors Stage will be holding our summer main stage production of Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr at Sierra 2. During this fun and intensive rehearsal process, cast members will have the chance to sing, dance, and act each day. Rehearsals will consist of warm-ups and technique sessions in addition to learning the material from the show.
