Knit Ideas
Ease yourself into this 2nd Saturday with the relaxing art of knitting at the Crocker Art Museum during World Wide Knit in Public Day. Whether you’re new or an expert knitter, this is the perfect start to your morning – supplies are even provided!
Pride and Joy
Right down the street on Capital Mall, SacPride 2019 will be one of the biggest celebrations of the day! Expecting over 18,000 attendees, the Saturday of this two-day event will feature tons of booths, multiple stages featuring local, queer talent, and renowned talent from RuPaul’s Drag Race and Lizzo herself.
Segundo Sabado
Oaxaca, Mexico comes to R Street courtesy of
Casa de Espanol during the festivities of Celebrate OaxaCA! Artisans from the Mexican city will showcase their traditional crafts with live demonstrations and hands-on workshops. A street parade, live music and dance, and authentically-inspired food and drink will make this a worldly experience without having to leave downtown.
If you’re still in need of a little more Latino celebration,
Kulture’s 2nd Saturday event in the Placita MX is a block party-style festival featuring street food, Mariachi, local artist and vendors and, this month, Paw Passion will discuss how to train your four-legged friends.
A Tough Decision
Watch Sacramento’s amazing skills during the Air Guitar Championships – yes, you read that correctly, Air. Guitar. Championships. It’s performance art at its finest as 20 competitors are judged on technical merit, stage presence, and airness with the winner going to Nationals!
If air guitar isn’t quite your ideal night out, try the B Street Theater’s $9 at 9pm performance of The Forever Question. This hilarious and inventive comedy follows a young couple through a big decision — should they have a second child?
