Florence Skiadas

A California native, Florence Skiadas is an award winning artist in oils and graphite mediums in plein air, portraiture and floral.

Florence grew up in the Bay Area and retired from a career in Computer Science in 2001. She has been painting professionally for 11 years — and it has been her greatest joy. For the last10 years she has been cancer free, and firmly believes that her art and faith have helped her heal and get through tough times.

Self-taught, Florence has been learning painting and drawing since about age 7 when she received her first set of oil paints, easel and pallet and guidance from my creative parents. Her earliest interests were portraits and airplanes. In high school, and local colleges Florence studied art, oil painting, drawing, gallery, and art history. She has also studied privately with Sarah Solice-Mattson and Brynn Carroll in oils.
