Steady Drop

Steadydrop is a mix of West Coat Reggae and Southwest Sabor. Formed in 2018 by New Mexican transplants and ex-band members of Las Cruces, New Mexico ska band Liquid Cheese, the early stages of the group focused on performing late Reggae/Rocksteady/Ska music. Things got more interesting when a mutual friend referred twin sisters Kris and Kat Burce who lived in Guam before relocating to Sacramento. They brought with them a trove of original material that the rest of the group effortlessly re-arranged to a full band set up. 2020 also saw the beginning of a great dub collaboration with Nate Bridges aka “Black Market”. The band heard Nates dub renditions of The Temptations off his Bandcamp site and reached out to him to mix/master and dub their subsequent singles “Pigs Fly, Rebel” and “Can’t Promise”. With no shows to promote the band focused on their Bandcamp and Spotify presence, landing on a few podcasts and gaining supporters worldwide.
