Sue Owens Wright is best known as the Maxwell Award-winning author of the acclaimed Beanie and Cruiser Mystery Series. To date, she has had eight books of fiction and nonfiction published, which are sold worldwide. She also studied art in college and illustrated the cover of her first novel. Sue earned her degree in English and art from California State University, Sacramento, and has studied pastel painting with Maggie Price, Terri Ford, Reif Erikson, and others. In 2018, she was awarded Signature Status in the soft pastel medium from Sierra Pastel Society.
Sue’s art has been exhibited in various Sacramento shows and galleries, including Crocker, CK Art, and Adamson Gallery. Currently a member of Pastel Society of the West Coast, the artist paints animals and enjoys painting landscapes en plein air, surrounded by nature’s peace and beauty. She often donates her art to benefit shelters for homeless pets and to other organizations for the disadvantaged.
