Timothy James was born in Anaheim and raised in Lincoln, a small rodeo town outside of Sacramento. Growing up his family moved around until settling in northern California. James’s musical influences stem from classic artists, such as Elvis and Frank Sinatra to country influences that include George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Toby Keith. At the age of 15, he joined his school choir and knew that he was passionate about music. Soon after he also joined a number of theatre groups in his hometown. At the same time, James was very active in the music community and won several county competitions in his hometown. After high school James moved to Los Angeles, where he attended The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. While attending the school, he played around the city with the acoustic duo Everett Coast (Danny Byrne and Josh Misko) at many notable venues including the House of Blues, Howl at The Moon, State Social House, and the Dodger Stadium Promenade.

After two years in LA, Timothy James moved East to Nashville after a friend persuaded him that it was the right place for him. While in Tennessee, James began performing his own music in local venues. He continued to develop his sound, while entering and winning numerous competitions in the South including, Junk In Jam located in Arkansas. Timothy James has currently wrapped up his debut EP, Comin’ Home, which will be available February 19, 2016.
