California Barbering and Cosmetology Board Notice

Are you concerned about the health and safety conditions at the salon you use? Establishments licensed by the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology must follow strict sanitation guidelines to protect their customers against infection.

Before getting services, take a good look around the establishment and consider these questions:
-Is the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology establishment license posted in the reception area, and is the license current?
-Is a current practitioner license posted at each workstation? Is the place clean and tidy? Are the tools being used properly stored in containers labeled ‘clean’ or ‘soiled’?

If the answer to any of these questions is ‘no,’ you may face a greater risk of infection or injury, and you may want to choose another location to receive services. Then, protect others by filing a complaint with the Board at: barbercosmo.ca.gov.
