The MACC and the Rancho Cordova Community Enhancement and Investment Fund are proud to present the inaugural Youth Poet Laureate (YPL) Program for 2022.
Open to teens ages 13-19, this program is designed to engage youth with the literary arts, support, and celebrate the voices of students, elevate young poet activists, inspire creativity and reflection, and promote mindfulness and inclusion. The program is free to all participants who live or attend school in the City of Rancho Cordova.
The Rancho Cordova YPL program is a partner of the National Youth Poet Laureate Program, an initiative of Urban Word. This award-winning literary arts organization has propelled dozens of young writers and orators, including 2017 Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman, to national acclaim.
