1968: A Folsom Redemption

This exhibit is a photographic and journalistic account of Johnny Cash and his amazing comeback in 1968. Cash’s career was waning and he needed a boost to get it back on track. Cash had started playing in prisons in 1957, but his concerts at Folsom Prison and the Journey from 1968-1969 all stemmed from that concert. After those famous concerts Cash had his own TV Show for a few years and re-kindled his failing career.

Photographs documenting this period of time will be on exhibit along with some original Inmate Art from local prisons. There is much to see and do at this exhibit. Free lectures, movies, music and art workshops are available during the 3 weeks of this Exhibit at the MACC.
