A House Divided

Join Sacramento Fine Arts Center for one of three ceramic exhibitions during Fertile Ground, the 56th annual National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference.

Artist Marc Lancet said of his exhibit, “These are images of simple house forms torn asunder by complex and compelling forces. Physics does not take sides. Clay shrinks and stones do not, so these houses are permeated with fissures. Wood-firing adds yet another layer of physical stress. These forms have eroded, facing temperatures in excess of 2300 degrees Fahrenheit for three days. These houses, much like our country, have undergone much.”
