Inspired by Dvorák's love of Native American music and African-American spirituals, the New World Symphony is so well-loved that, in 1969, astronaut Neil Armstrong took a recording of the work on the Apollo 11 mission, the first Moon landing.
The orchestra will also perform Dvorak cello concerto (first movement), Jia-mo Chen (cello), Light Cavalry Overture, and Franz von Suppé.
