Black Poets Matter Series

Join Mad Mouth Poetry Saturday night on Zoom and Facebook for the kickoff of Black Poets Matter. Chianne “Cloudy” Rhodes Carrier, 17, a performance poet who attends Sacramento High School and is a Sacramento 2020 Youth Poet Laureates, will be the featured speaker.

The virtual event also includes Damieka Thomas, Ross Collier, Maya Pescatore, Zaakiyah Brisker, Autumn Cymone and Alan Roberson, who will each read for seven minutes.

The new six-week curated series is the brainchild of Mad Mouth Poetry, a coalition of multicultural poets who strive to create and maintain spaces of self-expression that are anti-racist, anti-sexist and safe for everyone.
