El Carnaval de Chavez: A Cinco de Mayo Festival

El Carnaval de Chavez is colorful, vibrant, and joyful family affair celebrating Cinco de Mayo – which marks the victory of México in 1862 battle of Puebla.

Designed as an annual event held every year at Cesar Chavez Plaza in Downtown Sacramento, El Carnaval de Chavez is a celebration of pride and passion.

This year’s celebrations include Lucha Libra, classic cars, live mural painting by renowned artist Gabriel Romo, Maquilli Aztec Dancers, and many other attractions.
