Elk Grove Run 4 Hunger

This is a flat, fast course starting and finishing in Elk Grove Regional Park. Special awards will be give for overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd female and male winners in 5k and 10k. Includes medals for all finishers, t-shirts, disposable timing chip for 5k and 10k, live music, food, and beverages.

Event proceeds from the Elk Grove Run 4 Hunger benefit the Elk Grove Food Bank Services (EGFBS), a nonprofit dedicated to providing essential resources to overcome the many faces of hunger and human need.

In the last 11 years the Food Bank has grown from two programs to 15 programs, two employees to four full-time employees and nine part-time employees and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. They also provide free clothes to those in need and things like pet food and senior wellness items along with serving veterans in our area. Every $1 donated equals four meals. Overall distribution for the Food Bank since 2014 has increased 87 percent and 280 percent for seniors since 2010 and they are currently serving approximately 5700 people a month. Currently, 1980 of those are seniors and 2017 of those are children in the EGUSD.
