Food for Thought Wine and Art Event

What is Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD)? FTD is the most common form of dementia for people under age 60. 60 Minutes called FTD “The most horrible disease you’ve never heard of.” FTD represents a group of brain disorders caused by the degeneration of the front and side of the brain. Although the age of onset ranges from 21-80, the majority of FTD cases occurs between ages 45-64. Therefore, FTD has a substantially greater impact on work, family, and the economic burden faced by families greater than Alzheimer’s. Currently there are no medications or a cure for FTD.

The Walter family is sponsoring this event because they have had five family members pass from FTD. JAYJAY Gallery is co-sponsoring this event because friend and local artist David Wetzl also suffers from FTD.

Please join the Walter Family and JAYJAY Gallery for the third annual Food for Thought Wine, Art, and Food Event to bring awareness and raise funds for FTD. The majority of AFTD funds come from individuals such as you who donate and come to an AFTD event.
