Global Rhythms: Massamba Diop with Father Time Trio

Perhaps the most renowned master of the Tama or “talking drum”, Senegelese musician Massamba Diop gained international recognition as lead percussionist for Daande Lenol, the band of Senegalese super-star Baaba Maal. He has performed and recorded with Carlos Santana, Herbie Hancock, Peter Gabriel, Harry Belafonte and Stevie Wonder. Now, coming off 2019 Oscar and Grammy recognitions for his signature sound in the blockbuster film Black Panther, Massamba Diop takes the stage with Father Time Trio in a celebration of powerful percussion and cultural creativity.
