The South Natomas Library is celebrating National Novel Writing Month with this writing workshop.
Writing and art should always be fun. You should be challenged to start, to continue, to mold and shape until you deem the project complete. The South Natomas Library is celebrating National Novel Writing Month with this writing workshop.
Writing and art should always be fun. You should be challenged to start, to continue, to mold and shape until you deem the project complete. You’ll leave with a list of prompts, books to explore, pages in the free notebook filled and ready for you to work more with, and the chance to meet and connect with other writers and form a critique group.
Trina L. Drotar has been teaching literary and visual arts workshops throughout the Sacramento region for 10 years, throughout California for 20 years, and has taught nationally and internationally. She has received awards for her visual arts, poetry, nonfiction, fiction, and journalism. She is a writer, artist, editor, workshop instructor, small press and magazine publisher, and critique organizer. She is the founder of Amber Moon Press and co-founder of the award-winning Crossroads Reading series.
Her philosophy for writing and art is simple. Write, paint, play notes, dance, just be there regularly. Explore, experiment, work outside of your comfort zone, read, view art, listen to music, see a play, interact with others, examine the world through your writing and art.
Following the workshop, attendees will be invited to explore the library or take a tour of Poet Laureate Park outside the door and form a critique group.
The workshop is free and is sponsored by South Natomas Library and the Friends of South Natomas Library.
