Marbling Workshop

Learn the mesmerizing art of Turkish Marbling in this three-hour workshop led by Brooklyn artist/maker Padmaja Max. Create fascinating, one-of-a-kind stunning marble patterns/monoprints on paper! You will take home finished papers ready to use for whatever you wish — cards, book covers, coasters, collages, jewelry, origami.

You will learn the fundamentals of marbling, from mixing the bath, prepping the paper, and making your own tools, to learning traditional patterns and creating your own. This process involves floating paints on a waterbased medium and manipulating them with brushes, combs, sticks, and other tools to create swirls, waes, flowers, and organic shapes and permanently transfer them on to paper! Be mesmerixed as you watch fascinating patterns emerge when creating your very own unique work of Abstract art. Participants do not need any prior painting or other art-making experience. All materials are provided.
