Norcal Noisefest 2020

The Norcal Noisefest, founded in 1995, is the longest-running experimental music festival in the United States, on a local and national level. Performers are mostly from northern California, but includes performers from across the United States and around the world. Due to venue closure and safety concerns, this year’s Norcal Noisefest will take place entirely online, broadcast worldwide via YouTube. Performances will include both live and pre-recorded segments. The festival will also include Zoom meetups so performers and participants can socialize between and after the performances.

This year’s Noisefest features seventy performers from across the globe, including new Sacramento performers like FABI and EGO DEATH, alongside living legends of experimental music like G.X. Jupitter-Larsen and The Weatherman (from Negativland) and well-known performers from other music scenes like Jason Walton of Agalloch. Long-time Festival goers will recognize many of our regular northern California performers including INSTAGON, UBERKUNST, CHOPSTICK, BIG CITY ORCHESTRA and LIVER CANCER. The online format means we have more international performers than ever, including ego death from Greece (not the same Ego Death as mentioned above), GOD PUSSY from Brazil, KOMPRIPIOTR from Italy, and HIDENORI NOGUCHI from Japan.
