Sacramento NEDA Walk

This is a charity walk put on by the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) featuring speaker Mark Marjama, catcher for the Seattle Mariners, during the opening ceremony followed by an approximately 1-mile walk around the Capitol.

In the United States, the statistics show that 8 million women and men suffer from an eating disorder. Eating disorders are serious, life-threatening illnesses that affect all kinds of people, regardless of gender, ethnicity, size, age, or background. In fact, eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. NEDA is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia.
