West Sac Rhythm on the River: Rock Americana

Everyone is welcome to this all-ages and family-friendly concert event. Check out the free children’s activities in our Family Fun Zone. Food and beverage will be available from Drake’s and food trucks at the venue. Be sure to bring blankets and folding chairs to enjoy the show comfortably on the grass area.

Outside food and beverages are not permitted at this event.

Limited parking is available on the street and in parking lots, both require a fee. Residents are encouraged to utilize rideshare, West Sac VIA, or bike to the events.

The Performers

Closing out the night is The Nickel Slots, ready to take you on a journey through hard times and desperation that always carries hope that better things are just around the corner. With influence from early roots Americana music as well as a touch of rebellious ’70s punk, The Nickel Slots draw the line that connects Johnny Cash to The Clash.

Opening the show is Elvis Cantú, he hails from the wild n’ crazy state of Texas, and has a very unique and wild sound to his original music. Mix a bit of Rockabilly with some western swing, then mix in a bit of jazz (the good jazz), infuse it with some rock n’ roll and a bit of country and swamp rock, and then you’re gonna be close to his wild n’ crazy sound.

Special Guest – Intermission Performance 

“Nearly impossible to pigeonhole, Be Brave Bold Robot has been described as “riding the edge between dynamic complexity and straightforward rock … something akin to the Counting Crows covering Frank Zappa, or Calexico performing the collected works of Les Claypool.” Front man Dean Haakenson’s lyrics can be quirky and unpredictable or “so crystal clear and beautiful, its as if someone put Kurt Vonnegut stories to music.” Every time we’ve heard BBBR in concert, we’ve been both interested and intrigued.
