May 10 - 12 2019
Whole Earth Festival

The Whole Earth Festival began in 1969 as a small art class project (“Art Happening”) on the UC Davis Quad. The students used art to teach visitors about the realms of activism, wellness, and environmental sustainability in an interactive and creative way. Following the United Nations’ recognition of Earth Day in 1970, the event was renamed to the Whole Earth Festival, fondly nicknamed as “WEF,” and has since evolved into a free student-run event, attracting over 30,000 visitors

  1. I can’t seem to find information about what kind of event this is, what happens at the event, so I can share with others. More information about what goes on at this event would probably bring in more interest.

    • Hi Ashley,

The festival is quite eclectic – part music fest, part educational, part holistic retreat. Here is a schedule of events: https://wef.ucdavis.edu/program/ We’ve added the link to the event listing.

      Hope this helps.

      All the best,
