Count your blessings. Thanks to Broadway Sacramento, Christmas is staying for a little while longer here in the River City!
While love and the weather may be “unpredictable and unreliable,” Irving Berlin’s White Christmas is a tried-and-true holiday delight. Based on the 1954 film, the musical is the story of showbiz producers finding gratitude and romance in a not-so-snowy Vermont inn. Like the film, the production is filled with dance, humor, and memorable music and lyrics.
Show highlights are easily its nostalgic mid-50s wardrobe, impressive set design, and the cast’s bewildering endurance during the show’s many tap dancing numbers. All these elements are combined in the unforgettable finale, “White Christmas.” (Stick around until the curtain falls for a chance of snow flurries.)
Whether you’ve seen the film a hundred times or if you’ve never heard of the Crosby classic, there’s no doubt that you’ll be warmed by its touching message – perfect as the temperature drops in Sacramento.
Don’t miss your chance to see snowfall at the Sacramento Community Center Theater! Irving Berlin’s White Christmas charms audiences now through January 1. Find showtimes and tickets on Sacramento365.
