  1. I would like to speak to someone who can shed some light on the existence of Black Farmers & Agriculturalists here in California and possibly visit the farms. I am a bookstore & art gallery owner. I can be reached via email, of course, or by phone @ (707) 334-3060. I look forward to your response.

      • Although we are less than 1 percent of California Ag producers we remain active and dedicated to expanding Black Agriculture in the "Farm to Fork Capitol of America," throughout the State of California and beyond.

        • Melaine, I'm curious as to how your thesis is coming. I've come across a Sacramento historian that is asking for information about black farmers in the area. My family farmed north of Sacramento and many were displaced by development. There is a book published last year 2019 "Farming While Black" by Leah Pennimann. She may have some information that could assist you.

      • Hi. I just read your post and I was wondering if you have had any luck in your search for black farmers in California.

I live in Riverside County and would love to sell my home and purchase some land for farming. I am looking for some direction going forward. I have had a hard time locating black farmers in California. If you have had any luck can you please contact me.

        Thank you.
