Sacramento Recorder Society is a local non-profit music association organized to promote educational and entertaining music for all ages played on the recorder and other early-music instruments. A chapter of the American Recorder Society and an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society, the Sacramento Recorder Society meets monthly from Sept-June, 6:45pm-9:30pm on the first Tuesday of the month at the Friends Meeting House (890 57th Street, between J street and H Street). Most meetings are conducted by a professional early music specialist who teaches recorder technique and relevant music history and theory while exploring music of many eras.
