Byron Colborn is a baritone saxiphonist rooted in the jazz tradition, and a prominent figure in the Sacramento music scene. Colborn leads the Element Brass Band, a New Orleans style 2nd line band that is the premier brass band in Sacramento, and one of the few authentic 2nd line bands on the West Coast. In addition to EBB, Colborn leads the Byron Colborn Big Band, a 17 piece ensemble, and a variety of smaller size combos. Byron also plays regularly with Peter Petty, and is active as a teacher, both privately and with "Bigger Than Us Arts."  Byron grew up in Davis, CA, attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass, and is a former student of renowned saxophonists Mel Martin and George Garzone.
