Colorist and visionary, American artist Mira M. White is an award-winning painter with an exhibition record both domestic and international. The multi-media artworks of Mira M. White bear witness to personal mythology of deeply felt images that stem from a lifelong preoccupation with and devotion to life as an ongoing journey of change and transformation. Her work with multiple media includes oils, acrylics, watercolor, soft pastels, encaustics, and all drawing media. Pieces are layered and developed over an extended period. Sequence, chronology and time play a significant role in these works, regardless of medium. There is often an intentional blurring of boundaries between the physical and the psychical- this is what sustains her interest and what continuously opens up future possibilities.

Her professional responsibilities include a full teaching schedule of classes and workshops in multiple media. Widely respected in Northern California Bay Area art communities, she has in recent years broadened her teaching venues to include workshops in Florida, North Carolina, Nebraska, and Washington.

The Pastel Journal just featured her work in its Dec. 2018 issue, with the apt title” Visual Narratives of Ethereal Beauty”.  Woven Tale Press just featured her graphic work in its June issue. She is included in a new hardcover book Art Journey: Abstract Painting, Encaustic Arts Magazine featured her work in its June 2015 issue. Other publications have honored her work as well: Gathering Clouds in 2014, Inquiring Mind in 2012 & 2014, The Pastel Journal featured her pastel, mixed media work in its Jan/Feb 2011 issue. Her work is included in the 2010 anthology Best In American Water Media, and she is also featured in a recent anthology: Journeys Into Abstraction.
