With the weather expected to be in the 70s this weekend, it’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy some sunshine and all of the fabulous 2nd Saturday festivities happening on the grid!

Drink and Shop Local

Kicking off my afternoon, I’ll to head over to Identity Coffees in midtown for a mid-day (caffeine) buzz and to check out the March Midtown Bizarre, a micro maker’s pop-up shop, showcasing handmade and hand-curated edibles, decor, clothing, art, skincare, and accessories. This month’s Bizarre features Ariz Mendi Clay, Burly Beverages, Cru Chocolate, Have Love Will Travel, It’s Knot Love, Artwork by Mandy Zee, Sophie Kissin Jewelry, and Sudz By Studz.

Preparing Flight to Neverland

As the Sacramento Ballet prepares to take the main stage at the Sacramento Community Center Theater in two weeks for a three-day run of their production of Peter Pan, they’re opening their studio doors for a special 2nd Saturday preview. This free event at the beautiful CLARA Studios will surely be a delightful afternoon treat.

After the preview, I’ll make my way to Rubicon Brewing Company for some Sacramento Beer Week fun — 1980’s style. As they put it, they’re celebrating the old dogs on the scene and will be bringing in beer from California breweries that have been open since the 80s including Sierra Nevada, Anchor Brewing, Mendocino Brewing Company and more. To celebrate their membership into this exclusive club they will be offering a prime rib dinner and give a discount on pints to anyone decked out in 80’s gear. An excuse to wear sequins and big hair? Totally righteous!

Fully Present

After some brew and 80s madness, I’ll be wanting a more tranquil and quiet scene. Viewpoint Photographic Art Center is showcasing the captivating photography of Kendall Isotalo. The exhibit, “Quietude” examines the emotional space that can occur during a time when a perceived threat of loss and transition coexists with feelings of gratitude and hope. She has found that in her attempts to be fully present and aware, she is able to experience profound moments of stillness, quiet, and tranquility.

Before I head to my last event of the evening, I’ll make a pit stop at Lucca Restuarant and Bar for a glass of Frank Family pinot noir and their famous zucchini chips.

Make it a Performance Night with $9 at 9pm!

My last stop of the night will be B Street Theatre for the special $9 at 9pm show of Concussed: Four Days in the Dark. Yes, you’re reading this correctly, the main stage show is ONLY $9 a ticket and Sacramento365 is proud to sponsor this event! I should also note, it’s $3 beer and wine and $1 PBRs. Enjoy a drink (or two) as you laugh and wince at Jack Gallagher’s jarringly funny new play about the strange turn his life took when he took a strange turn on his bike in front of an onrushing car. Touching, funny, and insightful, Jack chronicles the effects of concussion on the brain and comedy.
