Summer is making its entrance, and like the weather, Sacramento’s event scene is heating up. Live it up with me this 2nd Saturday by celebrating Pride Month, doing some yoga, and exploring our local art and music scene while indulging in delicious eats and drinks along the way!

Cheers to 10 Years, Zuda!

Zuda Yoga is celebrating their 10th anniversary and they want all of us to join in on their party. Kicking off at 8am at their Midtown location, they are honoring Sacramento’s yoga community all day with cool giveaways, yoga sessions, live music by DJ Rock Bottom, and some delicious food and drinks courtesy of Conscious Creamery, Wholehearted Juice, Deep Steep Coffee, and Zeal Kombucha.

After some yogi fun, I’ll head to Cafeteria 15L, a personal favorite spot of mine, for a late brunch…Southern Benedict and a glass of bubbly, please!

THIS is Midtown

One of the favorite parts of 2nd Saturday, especially during the summer months, is the block party filled with community pride and great live music that takes over the MARRS Building (20th St – Between J and K). On deck for this weekend is Felix Cartal, NRVS LVRS, and Jon Reyes. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get there early enough to snag a spot on the LowBrau patio and enjoy the music with a cold one.

Celebrate Pride

My next stop will be to Sol Collective to check out their newest exhibit in honor of Pride month. Project Pride: LGBTQ Art and Activism focuses on art defined by an atmosphere of social unrest and violence across the country and its impact on art and art making for LGBTQ artists. Each piece represents the varied aesthetic approaches to resist, protest, and address widespread injustices against vulnerable communities.

Uptown to Downtown

I’ve been hearing amazing things about Uptown Studios’ new location, so I’m looking forward to checking their space out during their 2nd Saturday Art Walk Reception: El Dreko Goes Downtown, featuring works by Patrick Ardell.

My final stop of the evening will be to Chada Thai on Broadway, another favorite go-to of mine. Some Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, and a Singha sound like the perfect way to cap off the night!
