March into adventure and make it a performance night this 2nd Saturday with these artsy Sacramento happenings!

Colorfully Abstract

The first stop of my day will be to E Street Gallery to check out the new “Color Fields” exhibit by Matt Rhoades and Cherie Hacker. Both abstract painters’ art share common considerations in their painting process with vivid color, pattern, shape, and the formal elements of art and design. Most important is the dialogue between the artist and the painting through a trust in the process, along with honed intuition and years of experience. Each artist follows their own artistic vision as they reflect on life and nature in spirited emotion clearly visible to the viewer.

Awaken the Feminine Power Within

My next stop of the day will be to The Silver Orange to check out the work of local artist, Erica Avila, which is inspired by feminine energy and how it can evoke powerful change.

What is The Silver Orange?

The Silver Orange is a nonprofit that provides an inspiring, social, and encouraging environment for teens Ages 11-17 years old to engage in experiences that spark growth and fulfillment. They welcome the integration of individuals, activities, and interests to enhance the lives of all participants.

Make it a Performance Night!

After taking in some beautiful visual artwork, I will head to CLARA Midtown for a free in-studio preview of the Sacramento Ballet‘s upcoming production of Carmina Burana and Serenade.

Before I make my way to the new and stunning home of B Street Theatre, The Sofia, I’m going to treat my taste buds with the Celery Root Ravioli and a glass of Pinot Noir at Paragary’s Midtown. If the weather holds, you will find me on the patio.

My last stop of the evening will be to The Sofia to hear from the masterful musician, Joe Kye. Drawing upon his migrant upbringing, he blends indie-rock, jazz, classical, pop, and world folk to create a unique sound. His innovative use of digital effects and looping, Kye weaves together diverse textures, catchy melodies, and rich, sweet vocals to create songs that groove, uplift, and empower listeners.
