One of the greatest expressions of Sacramento’s diverse community is the Land Park neighborhood. Home to one of Sacramento’s premier gathering places and the backdrop to many childhood memories, this neighborhood plays host to an abundance of attractions, including a few that are guaranteed to entice a full night out in August.
The 11th Annual Fire Spectacular: Walk on the Wild Side
William Land Park
Literally Sacramento’s hottest event of the year, despite some stiff competition from the recent summer weather, this family-friendly event features fire-based performances of every stretch of the imagination. Bring your flashlight and comfy shoes and grab a drink from a vendor, then get ready to experience fire eaters, fire dancers, and fire breathers, just to name a few.
Spark-off the night with a wood-fired pizza, and some beer or wine, inside the modern-minimalist setting of Masullo Pizza.
Sacramento Banana Festival: Jazz-A-Peel
William Land Park
Celebrate the many countries and cultures that use the banana at this family-focused fest featuring live world music and entertainment, exhibits, vendors, and much more!
Once you get your fruit fill, the Selland’s Market Café on Broadway offers a chance to sit back and enjoy one of Land Park’s most relaxing eateries.
Tales and Ales Fundraiser
Unlimited beer tastings — yes, you read that correctly! A multitude of local breweries will descend upon Fairytale Town in this all-ages fundraiser. Local food trucks and live music will round out what’s sure to be a very filling night.
