Child’s Play

Start your day with the kids at DOCO Sacramento as they kick off their Arts and Crafts partnership with Verge Center for the Arts with St. Patrick’s Day fun. Potato stamps and a treasure hunt will be a part of the fun along with a special performance from The McKeever School of Dance.

Barn Buys

After the kids do their own crafts, head on over to Drake’s: The Barn for some more handmade delights. The region’s best artists, makers, and small businesses will be on display at the River City Marketplace alongside gourmet food, live music, and a kid’s play area!

Highlight of the Day

Still in the creative mood? Drop in to the Verge Center for the Arts’ Lantern Creation Workshop to customize a lantern ahead of the I Street Bridge Lantern Festival, which will celebrate the redesign of West Sacramento’s I Street Bridge.

This is the perfect time to head down the street to Dad’s Sandwiches on S Street. This street-side location is the ideal little sandwich spot that delivers on exactly what it promises – a well-crafted sandwich.

Naturally Creative

Draw some inspiration after creating all morning from artist Laurelin Gilmore whose imaginative pieces decorate the walls of ARTHOUSE Gallery and Studios during her Intrinsic Nature exhibit. Follow her on a journey exploring the inseparable nature of a person and the environment shown through visual metaphors that include flowers and creatures springing from the body of subject in each painting.

Artificial Intelligence

End the day with a unique exhibition at the Hacker Lab, six artists partner with six engineers around four different themes to present their perspectives on the relationship between humans and technology. Come see the unprecedented results of these collaborations at Verizon presents Artists and Engineers Sacramento which interpret: Revealing the Invisible, The Future of Together, Speed and Humanity, and Portraits of Engineers.
