Start your day with the family and celebrate our city’s history at the newly-renovated Sacramento History Museum’s Living History event. Kids can create their own railroad lantern (a hand-made gift is always appreciated by mom!), experience gold panning, games, and characters in period attire ready to entertain.
And, what could be more fun for the family than a stop at Joe’s Crab Shack? Kids can get their choice of unique sea-themed bites while mom can pick from a fun selection of colorful drinks — including a Shark Bite — while seated along the Sacramento River.
Celebrate the Sacramento Delta with artist Elaine Bowers at Sparrow Gallery. Bowers captures the beauty of this region’s hidden treasures from riverbanks and levees (she’s aptly named the exhibition Delta Reflections) in her paintings in the hope of preserving and protecting these gems.
The Handle District transforms into a mecca of wine and fashion this 2nd Saturday in benefit of WEAVE (Women Escaping a Violent Environment). At Dress Up, Wine Down, the Lodi Winegrape Commission brings their renowned wines to Midtown around an elevated runway, featuring ‘fits from local boutiques, ranging from Ladybuggz Boutique to Getta Clue Store.
This Print Show is your chance to own a piece from some of your favorite local artists, like Micah Crandall-Bear, but for a price we can all afford (read: the perfect last minute Mother’s Day gift!) as GroundSwell Art creates and sells fine art prints that you can even get signed on sight by the original artists themselves.
End the day with the return of the THIS Midtown Block Party! The kick-off for the 2019 series features DJ Will Clarke as the headliner on this night of fun with three additional sets alongside food and drinks to be found in the surrounding Lavender District.
