Funny Pages

The Wayne Thiebaud Foundation’s private collection has paired the works of abstract expressionist Franz Kline with daily newspaper comics at the Elliot Fouts Gallery in an aptly named exhibition, Kline and Comics.

What better way to start off your day than by pairing some art with a bite at the Zebra Club. Located across the street from the gallery, this neighborhood bar opens early in the morning with a full breakfast menu to explore!

Elements

The contrasting elements of Earth and Air are explored by artists John Lennertz and Charlotte Cooper, respectively, at ARTHOUSE Gallery & Studios. Lennertz’s art takes the form of Fabergé eggs with items in the middle often exploring loss and decay, both on a global and personal scale. Cooper uses encaustics, and in the process leverages air, to create her pieces for this exhibit.

Drinks and Drinks

In Drink Me, the Kennedy Gallery hosts the work of 20 resident artists who’s pieces center on the imagery of a good drink. Drinks will not only adorn the gallery’s three floors but will also be served at the gallery’s no-host bar during Second Saturday!

Fill ‘Er Up!

Musical fun takes the stage during Pumps Boys and Dinettes. The Sacramento Theatre Company hosts a talented cast of actor-musicians performing toe-tapping country tunes to end the day on a high note.
