Tracy SavilleTracy Saville – Writer/Publisher/Life Changer

An Aries, a mystical believer, an artist writer, a former State Governor appointee, and self-defined wake-up call to human potential, Tracy Saville is a master of falling up. A local Sacramentan, hailing from Fargo, North Dakota, she is a self-proclaimed human re-engineer of organizations, lives, and careers, helping people find higher performance through personal leadership and conscious living through her business, T2 Performance Solutions. Tracy uses creativity as the tool to transformation and peak performance. As an artist, she uses words to change the world for the better.

BACKGROUND

At the age of ten, Tracy began writing poetry, short stories, and screenplays. She embarked on this in secret, knowing her mother expected her to become a serious businesswoman—not a writer. Growing up, Tracy also participated in live theatre and dance, eventually heading to Chico State as a dramatic arts and broadcasting major. After she was told by an instructor (the man who taught Gene Kelly how to dance!) that her face was too sweet to make it on stage or screen, she changed her focus to business. She received her BA in Business Management, but went on to achieve an MFA in Creative Writing/Fiction in 09/10 after many years of trying to deny that aspect of her voice.

Tracy Saville on KFBKAlways an avid writer, Tracy reflects, “I found my creative writing voice—the one that’s good and powerful—through therapy, believe it or not…the MFA program was intentional, to help me get over the fear I had in communicating powerfully with the world, which I knew I had to do in order to successfully launch a magazine and creative content platform online—which is what we’re doing now.” On top of being a gifted storyteller, Tracy is now also a powerful writer, one who uses the creative mediums of story in many forms to wake people up to possibilities in life and in themselves. For Tracy, “storytelling is THE art of truly communicating with people, and is the cornerstone of every aspect of our society.”

She works and plays out of The Urban Hive and lives by the river in Carmichael, with her two cats, two dogs, wild turkeys, raccoons, deer, and skunks (the latter not her choice).

INSPIRATIONS & MOTIVATION

As a movie, art, satire, and theatre junkie, Tracy consumes most of what has been created in those genres and through them has absorbed the ability to know a good story when she finds one, and likewise how to craft a good story in a variety of mediums. A life-long student of learning, Tracy is addicted to reading, is a tremendous cook when she wants to be, and lover of wine and sustainable foods. She is also an ardent fan of metal music and classic rock and roll, old school and current hardcore options included. At 45, she is committed to a healthy lifestyle, physical fitness, adventure travel, and engaging in her local community.

WRITING

As a writer, Tracy has published poetry and short stories (fiction and non-fiction), has written and published feature film screenplays and science-fiction/horror novels and short stories, and is publishing her first non-fiction book this coming year, FallingUp: Extraordinary Lives for Everyday People – The Human Guide to Living a Best Life, (T2 Publications. Available online February 15, 2012). A life-changing, humor-laced practical guide to the secrets of living your best life and achieving maximum performance through consciousness; helping people master their emotions, creativity, mindfulness, and communication abilities to compete and thrive in the new economy.

Below is an excerpt from her award-winning essay (Best Fiction GNU 2009) “How to Become a Sane Girl”:

On days when you would rather stick a fork in your eye than listen to one more under-articulated word come out of the mouth of a shallow, snarky girl who is just as bent as you – you write. Your words are garbled; your lies are legion. You hang onto the ledge of the black hole by chewed fingernails, and they all look at you, hanging there, removed from cause; clearly disinterested in your predicament. They die a little inside, over how beautiful and talented you really are. They whisper. They wish you were dead. So do you. Unknown Soldiers by Tim SavilleHer poem, “The Unknown”, was inspired by the headstones of two unknown soldiers (see photo, by Tim Saville, at right) & reflects on leaders who remain unknown:

I do not leave my mark upon the road
Not like equality or moon travel or electric lines forged from steel.
I do not appear in pages of higher learning,
In the annals of histories texts about greatness or power—
For I am not about the stain.
