Sacramento should be thankful for all the wonderful arts on display throughout the year; but this November, there’s even more great art to appreciate around the 916. Sacramento365‘s Dylan Fisher has gathered up five gallery events for you to check out this Second Saturday.

Crafty Canines:
My first stop for the day will take me to the Tim Collom Gallery to check out Barks for Art. This exhibit will feature works from almost 30 artists that focuses solely on our furry friends. While the art itself is amazing, the best part of the exhibit is that a portion of funds raised will be donated to the Chester Foundation, an organization that helps stray and disadvantaged animals in our region. After admiring the art, I’ll be heading over to The Mill for a fresh-brewed cup of joe.

Upon Closer Inspection:
Next, I’ll be heading over to the Kennedy Gallery to check out their “Up Close” exhibit. If you’ve never experienced macro photography, then you simply can’t miss this exhibition of 23 local artists — you’ll be struck seeing pint-sized objects in a larger-than-life scale. When I’ve had my fill perusing the stunning photographs, I’ll stroll down the street to Ginger Elizabeth for a few post-Halloween sweets.

A View From Here:
Sacramento’s favorite public radio station is the home of my next stop. Featuring images taken by Capital Public Radio’s Multimedia Producer Andrew Nixon, “Pictures for the Radio” reminds you to appreciate the good things in life. Afterward, I’ll head on over to Fahrenheit 250 for a chopped brisket sandwich.

A Whole New World:
I’ll be heading back across town to Sol Collective to check out the Light For A Better World show. Showcasing art that poses to bring “more light to the world”, this group exhibition features work from female artists from around the region. Keeping this rosy perspective going, I’ll head over to New Helvetia Brewing Company after the show for a Thunderbeast IPA.

Up for Grabs:
My final stop for the night will be Verge Center for the Arts’ Sneak Peek of The Art Auction. This is your chance to scope out your favorite pieces so you’ll know what to target when the big day comes a week later. This Saturday is also your last chance to get early bird tickets to The Art Auction before the prices go up. Afterward, I’ll close out the night at the Fox and Goose Public House for a stiff beverage and some hearty laughs from Fem Dom Com.
