On Tuesday, September 1, Sacramento City Council approved an additional $6.9 million for the arts, creative economy, and tourism. Nearly $4 million will be directed to three grants that are available for individual artists, arts and cultural nonprofits and creative businesses that have experienced financial hardship because of the crisis caused by the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Creative Economy Recovery Grants will be managed by the Sacramento Office of Arts and Culture (OAC).

DEADLINE TO APPLY IS NOW OCTOBER 7, 2020. For questions, email artgrants@cityofsacramento.org.

Because of the quick timeline, the Office of Arts and Culture will not accept incomplete or late applications.

Note: all applicants must be within the City of Sacramento.

Available Grants:
1. Nonprofit Reimbursement:
Arts and Cultural Nonprofits that have experienced financial hardship because of the crisis caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) may apply for reimbursement for eligible general operating expenses between March 1 and September 15, 2020 and must be expended by December 30, 2020.

2. For Profit Creative Business Reimbursement:
Creative Businesses that have experienced financial hardship because of the crisis caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) may apply for reimbursement for eligible general operating expenses between March 1 and September 15, 2020 and must be expended by December 30, 2020.3

3. Individual Artist Reimbursement:
Individual Artists who have experienced financial hardship because of the crisis caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) may apply for reimbursement for eligible business expenses and lost work between March 1 and September 15, 2020 and must be expended by December 30, 2020.
